Challenges
- Bubble’s Workflow Timing: When working on the safeguards for any simultaneous bidding on this platform we learned how peculiar bubble can be sometimes when dealing with complex bidding systems. We learned how to sync up all of our actions so that the timing worked out perfectly every time.
- Timezones: When dealing with dozens of notifications it’s easy to get lost. Now mix in the added complexity of everyone needing to receive, view, and bid differently based on their specific timezone. This was a fun, yet challenging issue we overcame with the help of some plugins and playing around in sendgrid.

- Race Conditions: Have you ever made an in demand purchase and been told it’s out stock even though it was just available a second ago? Someone beat you to the purchase button, by potentially milliseconds. In other words, they won the race! On GlassHouse race conditions were a key technical piece in order to provide a fair purchasing platform despite millisecond differences in purchase time.
- Real-Time Bidding System: We built a real time bidding system that keeps track of all attempts to purchase a home. It was specialized to fit GlassHouse’s specific flavor, but nonetheless it was an impressive technical addition we added for this project.
